NORWELL – Cityscapes, Inc., a Boston-based horticultural and design company, received a Platinum Award at the 2024 International Plantscape Awards for its moss wall installations at The Cordwainer, an innovative Memory Care Assisted Living community serving residents living with dementia. The award was presented during the 2024 International Plantscape Awards ceremony in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The Plantscape award recognizes outstanding achievements in interior design, installation, creativity and innovation.  Specifically, the award recognizes the biophilic design of The Cordwainer’s two-story moss wall in the entrance lobby as well as the living wall features in the community’s indoor sensory garden.

“This award celebrates the strides of interior plantscapes to connect people with plants in remarkable ways,” said Tamilyn Liesenfeld, Co-Founder of Anthemion Senior Lifestyles, The Cordwainer’s parent firm. “Our use of biophilic designs at The Cordwainer creates a warm and sensory environment for our residents, families and staff.  We enjoy staying connected to nature and the benefits it provides for our well-being all year long.”

This award follows many other accolades The Cordwainer has garnered since opening in late 2022. Most recently, the community was named the best designed stand-alone memory care community in the nation by Senior Housing News. Previously, The Cordwainer was tabbed as a “Top Workplace” by The Boston Globe; selected as “Business of the Year” by the Norwell Chamber of Commerce; and earned the “Star of Excellence” designation by South Shore Magazine

The Cordwainer distinguishes itself through its innovative design and programming, which are specifically tailored to significantly enhance the well-being of its residents.
